NIJ STUDENTS VISIT TOGO

In a bid to upgrade journalist in French
language, the authorities of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, headed by
Dr. Nkem Elizabeth organised a Togo trip for its students.
The excursion which lasted for a week feature
students activities such as class lectures on French language, in-house and
outdoor interviewing of important dignitaries first, in French Village and in
Togo, Lome town.
A Togolase, Mr. Noel who lecture the students of
NIJ in French language, exposes both the interior and exterior part of the
course to the students.
However, he revealed the secret of French
language made easy to the student to boost their mental faculty to understand
the language with ease.
However, according to the lecturer and supervisor
of the NIJ students for the one week trip, Mrs. Okafor said, “the excursion was aimed at boosting
student language proficient in French, thereby given them the opportunity to
get a job in an embassy or in french speaking country due to the vast nature of
journalism practice which had gone international.”
Notwithstanding, the student that participated in
the excursion includes, Benedicta Bassey, Micheal Okenya, Micheal Kunnu,
Mildred Okorodudu, Onansanya Christiana, Areo Tosin, Balogun Segun, Edomah
Helen, Gloria Ozuorie,Ignatius Igwe to mention but a few.
Also, the Editor and Publisher of Citadel
Publication of NIJ, Micheal Kunnnu, said the excursion has really opened his
eyes to see the efficacy of french language in journalism practice and also had
enhanced most of his social websites with friends from french speaking
countries.
According to him, “I thank God that am one of the participant of the excusion because
it’s a plus to my curriculum vitae and I can defend it.”
However, the provost of the institute
congratulated students that attended the trip while handling the certificate of
a week course in French langauge to them.
